Easy Peasy Cold Infusing

What if the best flavours didn’t need fire? Cold infusion is a game-changer, gently coaxing vibrant botanicals into a symphony of taste without heat. Like a slow dance, it allows simple dried plants to unfold their unique flavours—bold, fresh, and vibrant—creating a drinking experience that’s both sophisticated and effortless.

For a smooth and fresh taste just add dried botanicals to cold water and let time do the magic. In just a few hours (or overnight), you’ll have a naturally bright drink that’s free of bitterness, full of nuance, and as beautiful as it is delicious.

Cold infusion isn’t just a method; it’s an alchemic experience. Ready to taste the difference?

How to Create Cold Infusion Magic with kissteas Botanical Blends

  1. Gather Your Supplies
Start with your kissteas dried blend—each blend is carefully crafted with premium botanicals for a refreshing and vibrant flavor. You’ll also need the included reusable calico brew bag and a container or pitcher of your choice for steeping. No need for metal infusers or worrying about tiny particles escaping into your drink!
  2. Fill the Brew Bag
Take your calico brew bag and carefully fill it with the dried botanicals from your kissteas blend. The bag is designed to hold the botanicals securely while allowing all the natural flavours to infuse into the water. You’ll find that this design eliminates the need for straining out small particles, giving you a cleaner infusion. As a general guide, we recommend between 25-30 grams of dried product per litre, depending on how strong you like your taste. You can always add more water if you find the infusion too strong.
  3. Add Water
Place the filled brew bag into your container and pour in cold, clean water. You want to use enough water to fully submerge the brew bag, allowing the botanicals to steep evenly. Think of the water as the perfect partner, creating a refreshing, flavourful base for your infusion.
  4. Let It Steep
Seal the container and let the botanicals steep for a few hours—or, for best results (and value for money!), overnight in the fridge. Cold infusion is all about patience; let the flavours gently unfold and mingle. The longer the infusion, the deeper the flavour. You’ll notice that the botanicals release their vibrant hues and delicate flavours into the water.
  5. Remove the Brew Bag
Once your infusion has reached the desired strength, carefully remove the brew bag from the container. Since the calico bag is reusable, simply rinse it and set it aside for your next infusion—no mess, no fuss!
  6. Enjoy Your Infused Drink
Pour your perfectly infused beverage into a glass. At this stage, you can enjoy the drink as-is, or add some ice for extra refreshment. Feeling fancy? A little splash of bubbles can take your cold infusion to a whole new level of fun.
  7. Sip and Savor
Take a slow sip and savour the nuanced flavours that have naturally unfolded. Whether you’ve chosen a blend with a bright hibiscus zing or a more subtle honeybush warmth, each sip will reveal layers of flavour without any bitterness. The best part? You can keep refilling your glass and keep enjoying!

Pro Tip: If you want to make a batch for a crowd, simply scale up the recipe—just make sure to use a large enough container for your brew bag to work its magic.

Bonus: The calico brew bag isn’t just for cold infusions—use it for other herbal teas or drinks you want to keep free of stray particles!
